Sarah Landman is an excellent student, a very talented musician, and is regarded as an amazing person in general, both in school and out. Landman was awarded Star Student of 2012-2013, she said she was very excited and honored to be given this award. Landman is eighteen years old and is planning on working in music or something with math or psychology. Aside from her top notch grades, she is one of the best musicians at Bremen High School. She has been in band since sixth grade; when she first began in band, she wanted to play the flute, but she said she is so glad she chose the clarinet instead. Landman has made district band and all-state band for four years in a row, which is one of the greatest accomplishments ever achieved by a Bremen student. She said her first year she was extremely nervous but super excited when she made it. When asked if she will miss it she replied, “I will miss the experience. Going to district and All-State were some of my fondest memories. But I am looking forward to college, too!” As for college, Landman has already been accepted to three different schools and has secured a music scholarship at the University of Georgia.
On April 24, Joe Bexley and Cory Morgan each signed letters of intent to wrestle while attending the colleges of their choice and continuing their work as superior wrestlers.
Many changes are set to take place next school year, but perhaps the most drastic is the welcoming of a new principal. Originally from Ashburn Georgia, Dr. Tim Huff has been named the future principal of BHS. Huff attended Turner County High School, where he has currently served as principal for three years. Some of his other credentials include a two-year science degree from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and a Bachelors Degree, Masters Degree, and Doctorate from Valdosta State University. He also served as assistant principal, transportation director, and CTA director of Lanier County High School and was principal of Turner County Elementary School for six years. Huff has also taught biology, physical science, physics, math, and physical education. The Bremen community anticipates the arrival of this highly qualified leader.
